Returning old appliances and batteries
Electrical appliances and batteries must not go into household waste at the end of their life. This is how you can return them to us, free of charge.
Old appliances in our shop
In our shop (1131 Budapest, Reitter Ferenc utca 132/B ép.) we take back used or waste electrical appliances of the same type and function as the equipment we sell. You do not need to buy anything and there is no charge. If, as a private individual, you also buy new equipment when handing in the old one, you receive the voucher set by Hungarian law, which you can use towards the price of the new equipment.
Old appliance removal with home delivery
If we deliver your order to your address (by courier or freight carrier), you can tick “Please take away my old appliance of the same type” at checkout. We then take back and remove household appliances with the same purpose as the one you bought — as many units as you bought: free of charge from businesses, and against a purchase voucher from private individuals, as set by Hungarian law.
We will arrange how the old appliance is collected before delivery. If you did not tick the box when ordering, you can still ask by e-mail (info@ecoflow.hu) before delivery.
Batteries
We take back waste batteries of the kind we also sell separately (extra batteries) free of charge, even without buying a new battery: in our shop and, with home delivery, at the delivery address. You can also hand them in at municipal waste yards and at the collection points of shops selling batteries.
Return a battery built into an appliance (such as a portable power station) together with the appliance. The product manual tells you the battery type and whether and how it can be removed; only remove it if the manual says this can be done safely, without damage.
Why separate collection?
- Waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries must not be thrown away with unsorted municipal (household) waste; they must be collected and returned separately.
- Appliances and lithium-ion batteries may contain hazardous substances that harm the environment and human health if handled improperly.
- A damaged, swollen or overheated lithium-ion battery is a fire hazard: do not charge it, store it on a non-flammable surface, and tape over its terminals before returning it.
- By returning them separately you help make sure appliances can be reused, their materials recycled and less waste is produced.
- Before handing in an appliance, delete your personal data on it and unlink it from your account in the EcoFlow app.
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol
The crossed-out wheelie bin on the product, packaging or battery means that the product and battery must be collected separately from municipal waste at the end of their life. A chemical symbol below it (Hg, Cd or Pb) means that the battery contains mercury, cadmium or lead.
Where else can you return them?
Besides us, any retailer selling equipment of the same type and function takes back old appliances free of charge, and you can also use municipal waste yards and collection points.
